OpticBuild are a team of trade qualified, Licensed Building Practitioners. OpticBuild was founded by Daniel Harris, who has a passion for quality building. He brings many years of construction experience to OpticBuild, and has a wide range of skills from new builds to high-end residential renovations, and commercial fit outs. Prior to starting OpticBuild, Daniels saw the key to any successful construction project is by ensuring effieciency through integrity, clear communicaton and budgeting. This is how OpticBuild’s values were established and why they are important today.

We chose Optic Build for several reasons. Their price was very competitive without compromising on the details and quality we had specified in our brief and drawings. Daniel was very upfront about details, process and budget, and his thoroughness and professional approach gave us confidence. During the construction process we were kept up to date with the information we needed about what was going on onsite and where things were up to. Things develop and pop up and change as they always do, but Daniel was always one step ahead and letting us know what was in the pipeline and what our options were. He also offered his advice on practical considerations that we hadn't even thought about which gave us a much better finished home than we would have had otherwise.

We had been through a few renovation companies and we were unable to commit to any of them because they couldn’t answer basic questions as to what was covered in their estimates if we asked about specific things. Daniel’s estimate was a comprehensive 15 pages, broken down into different areas and listed specific things. It was much more detailed and inclusive than anyone else had been able to provide. We felt confident that everything had been covered so there wouldn’t be any major surprises during the construction period. He also listed a variety of options for each are where savings could be made if we wanted. Daniel knows his stuff, checks over everything on the plans with you and was able to answer any questions we had. He also project managed and organised all the tradespeople.

We can definitely help you with this! OpticBuild has great relationships with several architects and draughtsmen, who we have experience working and collaborating with on many projects.
Do I need building consent?
If your planning a project, whether it be a renovation or new build – you are likely to require a building consent, resource consent, or both from the council. Follow this link to help you find out if you will need to get any consents:

Once the design process for you project is completed, we can prepare and submit you plans to council, and work with you to gain the necessary consents
How much will my renovation cost?
It’s a question every home owner wants to answer. If you are looking for an estimate cost cost, we’d be happy to have a discussion with you to determine the feasibility of your project. The truth is that no square metre price will adequately answer this question, because every project is unique. To avoid disappointment down the road, we recommend clients involve us from the concept stages of project, so we can ensure the house you design is realistic for your budget. Once plans are confirmed, we can provide a full fixed-price contract so that there are no hidden costs.
How long will my project take to complete?
The biggest source of frustration for people doing a building project is unrealistic schedules. Poor planning by your builder not only leads to extra costs, but can also push back completion dates. We make sure this is avoided by maintaining clear communication, weekly construction updates, and by providing you with a full construction schedule and timeline. OpticBuild is efficient and organised, and ensures we deliver your completed project on schedule.
Does my project have a builders guarantee after completion?
We are Registered master builders, that means we can offer you a 10 year Master Builders guarantee to the construction work carried out on your home.
